About Me

I'm an army wife, working mom of 2 kids.! My husband Tim is a Soldier In the army. I work for MWR for the Community Recreation Division as an admin assistant...I absolutely LOVE my job I couldn't have found anything better! My daughter, Kennedie, was born in January of 04 and our son, Cale, was born June of 09. Kennedie is VERY involved in dancing, she is in her 11th season (2019-2020) of being a competitive dancer. It's exhausting but we LOVE it. Cale is starting to REALLY get into sports. He is on a year round wrestling team, and he plays baseball in the spring! This blog started out as a recipe sharing venture but now it's going to turn into a more "granola" way to live. Cheap recipes more homemade recipes and re-purposing things. I'm a crafter at heart so I'm going to throw some of that in there too! On Valentines Day of 2017 we bought our first Travel Trailer. I'll be documenting our travels also on this blog!

Reusable Food Pouches

I LOVE these pouches.  I have about 20 of them between the "little green pouch" and the yummi pouches. (www.littlegreenpouch.com and www.yummipouch.com )  My family loves bringing these along any trip to snack on, and because you don't need utensils they are perfect for the car, tournaments where you sit in a gym/auditorium for HOURS (oh wait you don't do that?  Must just be our family, hehehe), and great for lunches.

First off I was making pineapple puree for my son who LOVES pineapple, but lets face it he is coming up on 4 and pineapple chunks leave him STICKY and anything in his surrounding area sticky.  I filled those pouches up and had not enough left for a full pouch.  I left it in my Pampered Chef Food processor that I love so dearly, and added handfulls of blueberries, black berries, and cut up some strawberries.
Processed it up-
(I love this food processor because i'm able to take out the blade and it leaves you with a bowl that is EASY to pour, scoop, or spoon out of.  Wereas a traditional food processor has a HUGE whole in the middle where the blade sits and you have to be careful when you are trying to get the food out of the bowl.
This little guy I got from Kitchen Collection for under $5.  TOTALLY WORTH it if you are going to invest in the pouches.  Makes filling SO much easier.
Then just fill it up.  Take a dry erase marker and notate what is on the inside.  Zip it up and store in the fridge!
